Welcome, young designers, to Insights 2019: Divine Design. You are here to learn the basic elements of interior design. You will strive to balance function, aesthetic, your vision, your client's vision, and budget. Together, we seek to create something of beauty that can be truly "lived" in.
vision
Design should begin with a feeling. An inspiration. A consciousness that we make spaces for people. People who think, feel, want and need.
good design
Good design is not simply about art. Or objects. It is about the purposeful and thoughtful selection and placement of the things we need to live and—most importantly—to feel alive in those spaces. Design should move us, like a work of art, but it also must serve us, like a utilitarian fork.
We challenge you to bring beautiful form and pragmatic function together as you design the space.
execution
As designers-in-training, you will labor to bring your concepts to life in the space, merging the basic elements of design (lighting, texture, color, etc.) into one cohesive space. We can't wait to see what you will create.
